Jesus: He Sees Us
Imagine the woman with an issue of blood in a horde of people clamoring to see Jesus. She desired coming to Him, but she didn’t approach Jesus face to face.
She’d allowed her affliction to define who she was. Sin shackled her into a life of feeling unworthy and ashamed to face Christ. Like so many of us, we figure if we can slip into a quiet acquaintance with God, we might go unnoticed, but still gain the benefits of association.
Maybe we try sneaking up from behind for confession, forgiveness and salvation. Like my teachers told me as a mischievous kid, “I’ve got my eye on you.” God sees us. He knows our hearts, and that we desire to approach.
Jesus knew her need and her faith, but He wouldn’t allow her to go unnoticed. Jesus proclaimed for her and those who judged her that she was healed. This wasn’t to embarrass her, but to redeem her.
It can be intimidating to openly pursue Christ. You may wonder, what if I fail or sin again. Guess what, you will. And only by pursuing Jesus will you be forgiven again and again while your heart becomes one with His.
He sees us.
Much Love / Much Respect, Scott
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?Luke 8:43-50
